Robert L. McKinney - President, Chief Executive Officer

Bob McKinney began his career in the financial service industry upon leaving the U.S. Army. Bob has served in a number of executive management positions in community banks. These positions include President, Chief Executive Officer and Director. Bob continued to national leadership roles within a mulit-national bank holding company where he was a member of the Retail/Small Business Risk Management group of Banc One Corporation. Bob completed studies at the American Bankers Association's Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma. He is also a graduate of the Executive Program/Leading Strategic Change of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Due to his strong leadership skills, Bob was chosen to be certified and conduct leadership programs for Bank One's management teams. He has been a speaker at national banking conferences and taught banking courses at Marshall University Community College. Bob has been a resident of Hilton Head since 2000 and has led successful banking teams in the Lowcountry.
Michelle M. Pennell - Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Michelle M. Pennell, is our Chief Financial officer and Executive Vice President. Ms. Pennell has been a resident of the low country area for over 19 years. She earned her bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from James Madison University in Virginia, graduating magna cum laude. She joined the Bank in January 2006 and was promoted to her current position in May 2006. She served as the Vice President and Treasurer of Atlantic Savings Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wachovia Corporation, on Hilton Head Island for over seven years, from 1991 to 1998. In addition, Ms. Pennell has substantial experience in many levels of accounting and finance across the hotel/restaurant, retail and non-profit sectors. Ms. Pennell has participated in a variety of leadership positions in community organizations over the years. She is a graduate of Hilton Head Island/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.
Todd D. Hoke - Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer

Todd D. Hoke, has served as the Bank’s chief credit officer and executive vice president since the Bank’s opening in 2006. From 2004 to 2005, he was the Vice President of Commercial Lending for the Hilton Head Island branch of Carolina First charged with managing a substantial commercial loan portfolio. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Vice President for the Bluffton branch of BB&T. Mr. Hoke began his employment with BB&T in 1999 and his responsibilities included establishing infrastructure and developing business for BB&T’s de novo Bluffton branch. From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Hoke was employed by the Wachovia Corporation in Hilton Head Island starting as a commercial credit analyst and was promoted to commercial lender. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He is also a graduate of the Risk Management Association’s Advanced Commercial Lending School. Mr. Hoke has been a resident of the low country area for 17 years. He is a graduate of Hilton Head Island/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.
Susan Sherry - Vice President, Commercial Lender

Susan is our Vice President and Commercial Lender. Susan is a native to Hilton Head Island and returned 18 years ago to the Low Country after graduating from the University of South Carolina. She brings to ACB 8 years of local banking experience in lending. Susan is actively involved in the community. She has served on the advisory board at St. Francis Catholic School for several years and currently is the Chairman of the PTA.
Ansley Goodman - Vice President, Retail Banking

Ansley is Assistant Vice President of Retail Banking and Marketing. She is responsible for the oversight of retail banking for both locations, branch marketing and development as well as risk management. Ansley attended the University of South Carolina for business administration. She has been in banking for nine years and brings to Atlantic Community Bank seven years of local banking and management experience. Ansley served on the Service Committee and held a Director Board positon for two years in the Zonta Club of Hilton Head. Ansley was named Woman of Achievement in 2013.
Mollie Sandman, Assistant Branch Manager
Mollie is the Assistant Branch Manager for both the Bluffton and Hilton Head locations. She is also in charge of Deposit Operations. Mollie is originally from Washington, DC and has lived in the Bluffton area for ten years. She is a graduate of George Mason University and has over fifteen years of customer service experience.
Laura Sturkie, HHI Teller Supervisor/Operations Assistant
Laura is the Teller Supervisor for our Hilton Head Island location. She is also responsible for assisting in Operations, Social Media and Risk Management. Laura is a Bluffton native and currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the Beaufort County Library. She has a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy & Religious Studies. Laura has years of customer service and management experience.
Deanna Detwiler - Teller Supervisor
Deanna is a Community Banking Specialist at our Sheridan Park location. She moved to the low country in March of 2010 from Pennsylvania. Deanna brings 15+ years of prior banking and management experience to Atlantic Community Bank. Deanna has an Associates Degree in Business Administration.
Judy Bussius - Community Banking Specialist - Senior Teller
Judy is a Community Banking Specialist at the Sheridan Park Branch in Bluffton. She relocated to the Bluffton area from Rhode Island in 2005. Prior to joining ACB Judy was a teller with a long standing credit union in Rhode Island.
Lara Victoria, Community Banking Specialist
Lara Victoria is a Community Banking Specialist at our Hilton Head Island location. She is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and relocated to the Low country in the fall of 2006. Lara graduated from UCLA where she studied English Literature. She later attended culinary school. Lara brings to our team over ten years of customer service experience.
Veronica Dempsey, Community Banking Specialist
Veronica is a Community Banking Specialist at our Hilton Head Island location. Veronica is bi-lingual and brings to ACB extensive local banking experience. She is originally from Uruguay and received a certificate of Accounting from Uruguay Institute. She also studied English as a second language at Oxford University of London. Veronica relocated in September 2000 and brings years of customer service to ACB.
Melody Payne, Community Banking Specialist
Melody is a Community Banking Specialist at our Sheridan Park branch in Bluffton. She moved to the area from Columbus, NC in 2008. New to banking, Melody brings seven years of retail experience including five years of management. Her strongest contribution to ACB is her customer service and lobby management.
Cathy Harding – Controller
Cathy is our Controller. She has been a Bluffton resident since 1999. She has worked in the banking industry since 2000. Cathy brings prior community banking experience to ACB, particularly in the field of accounting. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Judson College in Elgin, Illinois and a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Keller Graduate School.
Meghan Ofner, BSA & Compliance Officer
Meghan is our Compliance/ BSA Officer. She is a native resident of the Lowcountry and a graduate of USC. Meghan brings to Atlantic Community Bank 13 years of banking experience and a lifelong knowledge of our local market. Her experience includes retail banking, management, and loan origination.
Judy G. Hinds - Operations Specialist
Judy Hinds is our Operations Specialist. She came to the Lowcountry from Richmond, VA in 2005. Judy brings a wealth of knowledge to our ACB team gained from 37 years of prior community banking experience. Her experience includes: bank manager, sales leader, teller school instructor, and loan administration and origination.
Marla Nasuti - Business Services Operations Officer
Marla is our Business Services Operations Officer. She has lived in Bluffton and Hilton Head Island since 1986. She brings to Atlantic Community Bank 20 + years of banking experience. She is involved in fund raising efforts for March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society.
Gina Cavano -Consumer Services Operations Manager

Gina Cavano is our consumer services operations manager. Gina moved to the Low Country in 2004 from Boston, MA. She has over 26 years of experience in the real estate mortgage and banking industry. Gina earned an Associate’s Degree in Finance from Newbury College in Brookline, MA. She began her career as a mortgage loan closer and her most recent experience before joining the ACB team was as a mortgage underwriter. Gina has experience in processing, quality control management, underwriting and mortgage loan servicing. She has three children and contributes to the community by serving on the school improvement council at Hilton Head Island Elementary.
