This annual celebration of the Gullah culture showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Gullah people and their history on Hilton Head Island. This year’s Celebration events include the "Arts Ob We People Annual Art Exhibition and Sale", "Taste of Gullah", Arts, Crafts and Food Expo, Gullah Gospel Music Series, the Sweetheart Ball with Deas Guyz and more! We invite you to come and celebrate Gullah where your soul will be transformed by the spirit of the Gullah Culture.

The Southern Coast Ball, attended by more than 400 individuals from the Lowcountry’s and Coastal Empire’s corporate, medical and social communities, is the annual black-tie event benefiting the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission. Each year guests enjoy the Silent and Live Auction items along with an elegant dinner and live music to celebrate the culmination of a year-round campaign to raise critical funds. A special part of the evening is dedicated to honoring survivors of heart conditions and stroke. We are delighted to have the families and friends of these special honorees attend the Heart Ball.

Native Island heritage and culture get the star treatment at this celebration of all things Gullah. Enjoy an afternoon of storytelling, Lowcountry food, basket weaving, gospel music and crafts, all Gullah-style at this free community festival. The event features lip-smacking Lowcountry specialties such as barbecue ribs, conch stew, shrimp and grits, rice and beans, and okra gumbo. Fun for all ages! 

Sponsored by SC Arts Commission & Concours d'Elegance. The Taste of Gullah Festival is Funded by a Folklife and Traditional Arts Grant from the South Carolina Arts Commission & Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival and Concours d’ Elegance.

The 2018 Publix Hilton Head Island Marathon, Half Marathon & 8K will take place on Saturday, February 10th at 8:00am. Runners will depart from Jarvis Creek Park and follow a course that will take them on the Cross Island Parkway, through several parks, numerous neighborhoods and over Broad Creek. Both The Marathon and Half Marathon will feature all standard male and female divisions. Publix Marathon Race Day will also feature an 8K Run and Children's Fun Run. Over 1,200 runners of all ages are expected to compete in the three events. 

The Hilton Head Island Marathon, Half Marathon & 8K will benefit many local charities including The Hilton Head Rotary Club, Hilton Head High School Athletics, Hilton Head Christian Academy, Bluffton High School ROTC, May River High School National Honor Society, and others. In fifteen years, the event has raised over $52,000 for local charities.

Held at Honey Horn Plantation, the family friendly headlining event features area restaurants/chefs serving up seafood specialties and other tasty cuisine, a Kids Zone, a silent auction, famous crab races, carefully curated arts and crafts booths and more. Participating restaurants include American Culinary Federation, Benny Hudson’s, Black Marlin, Crab Group, The Crazy Crab, Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, Melly Mel’s, The Old Oyster Factory, Poseidon Coastal Cuisine & Rooftop Bar, Skull Creek Boathouse, and more. Live music by Deas-Guyz and Friends. 

The VIP Lounge will offer a limited numbers of tickets for 2018. The lounge was the ultimate experience last year and completely sold out well in advance. The VIP Lounge will be located in a private area, catered gourmet experience with its own bars and will also receive access to one the festival's two private parking lots at Honey Horn Plantation (one parking badge per household).

The center piece of the festival every year, the Grand Tasting features a large selection of high end wines. This traditional tasting is the festival’s most exclusive celebration, featuring award winning wines and an array of light hors d’oeuvres. Featuring music from Lavone and Louise. 

Public Tasting: Saturday, March 10, 2018

Join us for the festival’s largest event as we celebrate our 32nd anniversary at the Harbour Town Yacht Basin. There will be 250+ wines from all over the world for the Public Tasting. In addition, see chefs in action at the Sysco Outdoor Gourmet Challenge, enjoy live entertainment and watch the fun and excitement of the waiter’s race. Also, do not forget to bid on award winning wines at the Silent Auction where the proceeds support the John & Valerie Curry Scholarship Fund.
